The STP is required to be completed by all students starting the course without the recommended pre-requisite of a year 12 TEE science course. It provides the foundations of science knowledge required for the nursing degree program.
For TAFE Certificate IV and hospital trained enrolled nurses who have current registration with the Nurses Board of Western Australia, admission to the Bachelor of Nursing is easy. You can apply direct ly to ECU and gain possible advanced standing for some units of study.

Mature age student Matthew Parsons spent eight years in the Australian Army and didn't think University was an option for him after getting out.
Thanks to ECU's University Preparation Course (UPC), Matthew's career is heading in a whole new direction.
“I didn't know what I was going to do after the army and I didn't finish high school, so I thought I couldn't get into uni… I was very nervous about studying again. The UPC gave me the confidence to get back into study and to try going to Uni,” he says.
Matthew has been accepted into ECU's Bachelor of Environmental Science.
The UPC is designed to not only cater for recent TEE students, but also for people who are returning to study after many years. It can be studied at ECU's Joondalup, Churchlands and Bunbury Campuses and was also recently made available in Geraldton.
For more information on the UPC, click here.
